There was another dude on the forums recently that was attempting to run the game on an A10-4600M, also with very limited success - it comes as no surprise his A8 underperforms.

The reasoning is it has the same inefficient architecture used in AMD's very power hungry FX CPUs (that have a very low IPC to begin with) and it shares this extremely limited power budget with the integrated graphics to boot. No, there isn't, his CPU is actually slower than a Core 2 Duo system available back then. There's really not much that can be done without playing it on very low settings at the lowest resolution possible until you can actually get a PC that is even remotely gaming grade - having frame rate issues that dire on a 10 year old game must tell you something about your computer's hardware. I'm afraid there isn't much that can be done, you have a very low end processor with a very unfavorable architecture for gaming, and integrated graphics to boot.

I'd hate to ask for more help, but this game is crushing my soul. I tried the K-lite package, but it made my lag/fps moreintensive. I fixed the purple water on my own, but I am hoping for some better insight from you guys, than online. Also, my game crashes, when I have distant anything enabled. All I can do is alt-tab, and exit the game, and re-enter. Randomly, my mouse and keyboard stop working.
